Friday 24 February will be available on all streaming platforms "Terrarossa", the new single by the Syracusan pianist Raffaele Genovese.
“Terrarossa” is a prelude for prepared piano (felt piano) influenced by the atmospheres of romanticism and minimalism piano literature, which fits into the context of contemporary neoclassical music.
The piece is inspired by the desert sand that reaches from Africa to Sicily pushed by the wind, pouring over the cities of the island.
«I composed "Terrarossa" several years ago - says Genovese - during one of those days when the streets and cars of my city are covered by the sand of the desert; the construction of the piece tries to transfer this particular and fascinating image into music».
The song marks Genovese's debut for Anaglyphos Records, a label founded by double bass player Nello Toscano and which is now part of Giuseppe Strazzeri's Mhodì Music Company.
"I am very proud of this opportunity to work with Giuseppe Strazzeri and to be present in a catalog which includes many Sicilian musicians - and not only - whom I have known for many years and for whom I have always had great admiration".
Published by Anaglyphos Records (with YouIndependent distribution), Terrarossa will be available on Friday 24 February 2023.
