Raffaele Genovese (Syracuse, 4 June 1982) is an Italian pianist, composer, teacher and artistic director.
Graduated in Piano, Jazz Music and Music Education, he deals with jazz and contemporary music.
In 2009 he attended Umbria Jazz Clinics winning a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
He played with renowned musicians like Fabrizio Bosso, Ben van Gelder, Giovanni Tommaso, Matteo Sabattini, Stefano D’Anna, Tony Arco, Marco Panascia, Marcello Pellitteri.
He has performed with his bands in various festivals including Catania Jazz, Fano Jazz Network, Novara Jazz.
The journalist and writer Flavio Caprera wrote about him:«Genovese succeeds in creating a perfect equilibrium, balancing the melodic, solar and physical urges of his essence as an island-dweller, with jazz of a western and Afro-American stamp, in wich an essential and rarefied sound with measured rhythms are the structural peculiarities».
He has published for AlfaMusic Freeway (2011), Anamnesi (2013), Musaico (2016).
